Congregations Together (ACT) began in August 1996. Recognizing the
powerful role of the faith community in our society, the San Diego
Health and Human Services Agency began exploring how the faith
community and Health and Human Services could work together to:
- Develop a better understanding of each other.
- Create increased awareness and understanding of those among us
who were in need.
- Identify how Health and Human Services and the Faith Community
could help each other meet the needs of the neighborhoods.
- Develop and implement support services for those in need.
Through this partnership, others have developed services to
assist those in need. We all have one common goal, and that is to
develop and implement projects that help encourage community members
to reach their fullest potential.
